Moral support and hopefully creator and voice of a new character soon.
We are all big fans of The Muppets and shows like Invader Zim so it seemed only natural that we do something that pays homage to all the geeky things we love.
Why call it “Obey Vic”?
As we continue the series you will learn more about Vic’s motives. He’s the center of the show concept and we wanted to convey that he likely has plans for Earth and it’s inhabitants. Vic’s Twitter account @ObeyVic actually came before the show’s name, it had a nice ring to it so it stuck.
“Obey Vic” is also a spoof of the “Obey Giant” street art by Shepard Fairey as you may have already noticed with our promotional art.
How We Do It
We’ve put very little money into this project so far but plan to continue to invest in it as we continue.
We recorded our first videos in 1080p on an iPhone 4S using an “OWLE Bubo” video rig by smartphocus.com. The original “OWLE Bubo” has been discontinued but can still be found on photojojo.com and Amazon.
We’ve since upgraded to an iPhone 5 and use an iStabilizer Mount Smartphone Tripod Mount for the tripod.
The show is edited on a MacBook Pro using iMovie. We hope to eventually graduate to Final Cut if the show becomes popular.
We have a very simple 3 point lighting setup that consists of clip-on shop lights and old car windshield sunshades.
